It is getting warmer and warmer:) Spring around the corner and what it means for me is rolling my sleeves up and starting some yard work; cleaning, redesigning, improving, planting... I like to "redecorate" my yard from time to time the same as my house whether these are just few new plants or bushes; or new pillows for my patio furniture or new planters... it is always exciting and puts a big smile on my face. This year however my husband and I will be finishing something bigger that we started last year and just run out of time to finalize it. We call it our "Lounging Area":) I'm always looking for some interesting ideas on Internet and through catalogs. Here are some pics I found inspiring and to my liking. Maybe you will find it interesting or inspiring too;)

Three "Italian Furniture Maestros"
I believe that "Made in Italy" always sounds so prestigious and almost above anything. Italian designs, and I'm not just referring to furniture right now, are synonymous with luxury and craftsmanship. It is hard not to love the glamour style of Italy; their fashion, their food and wine, their opera, their cars... and for me personally also their furniture. I have few of my favorites I call "Italian Furniture Maestros" in modern design. Here they are:
CALLIGARIS
founded in 1923 by Antonio Calligaris and headquartered in Manzano Italy this family-run company has become known for its ability to combine form and function, while remembering the most important component - Quality! Calligaris produces and distributes furniture and furnishing accessories to over 12 thousand retail outlets in 90 countries worldwide. In the USA Calligaris operates through Calligaris USA Inc., which is based in High Point, North Carolina, (very close to where I currently live;) and has two company stores in New York (Brooklyn and Manhattan). Their furniture however is available for purchase through many other American retailers on land and on line.
My favorites from Calligaris are Dining Furniture-tables and chairs
CASSINA
Cassina has been a preeminent design leader and manufacturer of original contemporary furniture since 1927. At the company beginnings the operations were focused rather on woodworking but gradually expanded towards modern furnishings. The company name really gain some focus during the mid-50's when Cassina engaged the talents of architects such as Gio Ponti, Mario Bellini, Afro and Tobia Scarpa, and Vico Magistretti for design collaboration. Today many of these furniture designs are included in the collections of leading museums, and are found in the world's best-furnished interiors. Cassina stores are located in NY, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles and Miami.
My favorites from Cassina
B&B ITALIA
One of the finest in contemporary Italian furnishings since 1966, both for Homes (B&B Italia Home Division) and Public Areas (B&B Italia Contract Division). Creative, innovative, timeless designs that represent contemporary culture and respond quickly to the new needs of today's evolving lifestyles.
What's interesting about B&B Italia Contract Division is fact that it has been providing for more than three decades furnishings for the hospitality, retail, office and nautical sectors like luxury yachts and cruise liners all over the world.
I love the versatility of this company and their designs. My number one out of the three listed
